Le 700000 donne che ci vestono

An in-depth reportage published on Noi Donne on the conditions of life and work of the almost exclusively female workforce of the Italian textile industry in the 1970s. By Lina Fibbi, Gabriella Lapasini, Bruna Bellonzi, Carla Calcatelli, Luisa Melograni, Francesca Raspini, Luciano Sarti.

Established in 1944, www⁄Noi donne is an Italian monthly magazine. Up until 1990, it served as the Union of Women’s (UDI) official publication. Over the course of its existence, it has published many prominet Italian feminist thinkers and activists. In 1969 its legal structure was converted into a cooperative of female editors. The journal saw its period of greatest dissemination throughout the 1970s, peaking at 600,000 copies each issue, covering issues such as the fights for divorce, abortion, maternity protection, and equal pay.
